School of Marine Science and Technology,Tianjin University,Successfully Holds Doctoral Forum and Seahorse Forum

The Academic Forum for PhD Students of Tianjin University's School of Marine Science and Technology, along with the Seahorse Forum, was held on October 17 in Meeting Room 319 of the Eighth Teaching Building at the Weijin Road Campus of Tianjin University. The forum, themed "Exchange, Intersection, Innovation, and Collaboration," aims to promote academic communication and intellectual exchange among doctoral students. The topics covered in the forum include various research directions such as marine science and technology, intelligent forecasting and prediction, disaster prevention and reduction, and marine engineering. On the occasion of Tianjin University's 130th anniversary, the forum hopes to provide a high-level academic exchange platform for experts and scholars in the marine field and young doctoral students.



The forum was hosted by Zheng Qingyu, a first-year PhD student from the School of Marine Science and Technology. Prof. Wang Qing, Vice Dean of the school, attended the event and delivered the opening speech, warmly welcoming all the experts, scholars, and doctoral students present. In his address, Prof. Wang emphasized that this forum not only provides an opportunity for doctoral students to engage in in-depth exchanges and academic presentations but also serves as an important occasion to enhance research thinking and broaden academic horizons. He noted that it plays a significant role in the growth and development of young scientific talents.


During the forum's report session, the doctoral students delivered impressive presentations on themes such as marine science and technology, intelligent forecasting and prediction, disaster prevention and reduction, and marine engineering. The content included cutting-edge research findings and the latest academic advancements. Prof. Nanyang, Prof. Wang Xing, Prof. Guo Bofeng, Prof. Zhang Haiyan, Prof. Li Hong, and Dr. Chang Heng served as judges, providing professional feedback on the reports. The atmosphere at the event was vibrant, and the academic exchanges were both in-depth and fruitful.


Finally, after evaluation by the expert judges, Zheng Qingyu and Deng Shangwei were awarded the Special Prize, while Luo Qiang, Liu Zhenyi, Wu Wenchao, and Ma Qianwen received First Prizes. Cui Xudong, Xu Luochuan, Lu Xueqi, Liang Penghui, Cai Yue, Li Huiting, and Guo Gang were awarded Second Prizes, and Si Wending, Wu Haowen, Liu Jianfeng, Tong Yicong, Zhou Gongfu, and Niu Yuan received Third Prizes. The college leaders and all the experts presented certificates to the awarded doctoral students and posed for group photos to commemorate the occasion.



This forum not only provided a platform for young scholars in the field of marine science to showcase their work and engage in academic exchanges but also further promoted the development of marine science and technology disciplines. It contributed to the enhancement of young doctoral students' capabilities in academic research and innovative thinking.
